With all shooting complete, Chantelle, DM and I headed down to the tattoo parlor and watched as Chantelle picked out a design and added it to her collection. From walking in to walking out only 40 minutes had passed; Chantelle had a new tattoo and was $180 lighter. Both DM and I did volunteer to help take some of the pain by letting Chantelle hold onto our arms as tattooist, Big E, worked on the ink. Chantelle was happy. [When she got back to the suite, we also offered to let her ease some of the pain by taking another bath, but she declined. Apparently the pain did not extend to her middle finger, as that seemed to work just fine.]

We decided to go get some food before the helicopter flight, but — and Chantelle would tease me about this for the rest of the week — I told her to leave her bag in her room as she wouldn’t need it. We showed up at the “Wicked Vicky” pub in the hotel to order a beer and a burger, and first thing they wanted to ID Chantelle. I’m such a dumb ass. Chantelle actually does a funny retelling of this in part 6 of the video diaries, but you’ll have to wait till the next post to see it. Thankfully, Chantelle said she just fine to have the water that came free with the meal. Phew. [Maverick still thinks that when a woman says “It’s OK” she actually means that it’s OK. … He’s so cute.]
With the meal consumed, we headed out to the meeting point where Lucky and DM came down to wait with us. DM took some BTS pics after the shuttle bus arrived to pick us both up. [Odds in the office right now favor the opinion that D.Minion will be snapping pictures at her own wake.]
The shuttle bus picked up several other people after us, but the journey was fun as Chantelle was taking in all the sights, taking pictures and listening to the playlist the driver had on the stereo. We arrived at the hub near the airport we’d flown into at the start of the week. After checking in with the staff and getting some free champagne (not the expensive type, but I think they at least spent a few dollars on it) we sat down and waited to be called by the helicopter pilot. [Even people that only live near France can be snooty about champagne.]
