With the studio’s new “Summer Set” in place, we began by shooting Kayla in a summer outfit. [Just look at her. She could have suggested a soiled “wife-beater t” and some ripped fishnet stockings, and that would have been just fine too.] We began with the flash setup the studio had, but it was washing out the test pics so we switched them off and just adjusted the camera settings until everything looked good. … Suddenly the lens started to produce results that had me shouting expletives, but this time in a very good way. [Point of reference: FUCK! is bad. FUCK, YES! is good. Generally you just add a positive word after the potentially offensive one, and you will change the meaning, y’know in case you ever want to try this at home. Do be wary of “Bitch, Please” which does seem rather situation dependent in order to determine its actual meaning.]
I was amazed at the results the lens provided already. If we didn’t tell you we shot this set in a studio you could have been mistaken for it being shot outside. Only thing with this lens is that it’s really for portraits and to get full-length shots I had to be all the way across the studio … basically, into next week! [Sadly, part of the recommendation stemmed from a subtle push to get them closer with the majority of the shots. Next lens we recommend will be a 400mm — and if you know anything about lens technology, you are right now laughing, and laughing…. If you do not, don’t worry: Geeks tend to be not only weird, but quite comfortable with inside jokes.]
…
We’ll continue with this report at a later date, so feel free to get excited. For today, we’re going to bring you a set and camshow from later in the Kayla shoot. Not only does it show off Kayla really well, it’ worked as an excuse to get a model in a biker outfit — always a good thing. [You could ask why they did not just finish up with shots from the Summer Set, seeing as how we just spent all this time talking about it, but, then, that would make you much braver than any of us were. … Comfortable with weird, remember?]
